Basketball is played by both boys and girls in the first two terms. For Girls Basketball is one of the major sports played during that time, and is compulsory for girls in 1st and 2nd year. This year, there were a total of seven teams entered in the Leinster Schools' Leagues across the various age groups.

The Sports Hall is an excellent facility for the playing of the sport and with specialised coaching available, the future is bright for the sport of Basketball in the school. It is a great sport to develop key skills like team work, resilience and self-discipline and our coaches role model these skills every time they coach.

In Boys Basketball, the school fields a Senior and U-16 team. At Senior level, the school competes in the Leinster Schools' B League, and the U-16 team competes in the Leinster Schools' C League.

In Girls Basketball, both the Senior team and under 16 compete in the Leinster Schools' C Division  Teams are also fielded for Form 1 and 2 girls, and they compete in the Leinster Schools' League as well.
