Charity and Fundraising

Transition Year students in The King’s Hospital School are also encouraged to become involved in charity work. Selected charities include:  Aware, The Hope Foundation, Down Syndrome Ireland, Heart Children Ireland and Tiglin.

Students also contribute to fundraising and play an integral role in the annual Stewart’s Hospital Flag Day to raise money for this local institution in Palmerstown.

With such involvement, pupils gain a wider understanding of the needs of others in society and how best to assist those less fortunate than themselves, thus building an important empathy with the needs of others.
