Charity and Fundraising

Transition Year students in The King’s Hospital are also encouraged to become involved in charity work for organisations during Transition Year. Selected charities include;  Aware, The Hope Foundation, Down Syndrome Ireland, Heart Children Ireland, Tiglin.

The King’s Hospital students also contribute to fund-raising and play an integral role each year in the Stewart’s Hospital Flag Day to raise money for this local institution in Palmerstown.

With such involvement, pupils gain a wider understanding of the needs of others in society and how best to assist those less fortunate than themselves, thus building an important empathy with the needs of others.
