The consistently high level of academic achievement at The King’s Hospital is a reflection of the pupils’ response to the encouragement of staff and parents.
Consistently, over 80% of pupils go on to third level education, with over 50% gaining places in the seven Irish Universities and the balance availing of opportunities in universities and colleges overseas, notably in the UK and Germany and the USA.
A most important day in school calendar and the academic calendar is Charter Day, which is held at the beginning of December, and commemorates the founding of the school and the award of the Charter by Charles II. It is also the day on which prizes are awarded for academic achievement for the previous year. The day is attended by all pupils and staff, parents of prize-winners and visiting governors and friends of the school. |
