PARENTS AND PUPILS MEETINGS

Form 6 Parents’ and Pupils’ Meeting – takes place at the beginning of the school year at the end of September and is an information meeting for both pupils and parents regarding UCAS applications / CAO applications and other important issues for students in their final year.

Form 4 Parents’ and Pupils’ Meeting – takes place at the end of the Hilary Term to inform both the pupils and the parents about the Senior Cycle curriculum and the important Subject Choices that Form 4 students have to make for the Leaving Certificate programme.

Form 3 Parents and Pupils Meeting – takes place in the Trinity Term to inform both the pupils and parents about the Transition Year programme and the opportunities that it affords, and to assist pupils with module choices for that programme.



APTITUDE AND INTERESTS TESTS

Cognitive Abilities Test – NEFR Nelson. Group administered standardised test to assess reasoning ability of pupils.

DATS (Differential Aptitude Tests) are done with all Form 4 students. When the results are known, each pupils meets individually with the Guidance Counsellor to discuss the results, and they are posted to the parents / Guardians.

Eirquest for Form 4 is a programme that reveals the student’s interests, personal qualities and academic abilities. All pupils in the Transition Year have the opportunity to undergo this test during subject choice week in the Hilary term.

Centigrade Questionnaire for all Form 5 students is a computer-based programme, which matches a pupil’s interests and abilities to Degree and Diploma courses.
