| | | | | | | | The King’s Hospital | | | One of the oldest secondary schools in Ireland, The King’s Hospital – established some 340 years ago – is a fee-paying co-educational, boarding and day school with over 700 pupils.
Founded in 1669 as The Hospital and Free School of King Charles II, the School carefully maintains its traditional values and combines them with modern, cutting-edge education and facilities to create a welcoming environment that enhances pupils’ academic, cultural, creative, sporting and social development.
Set on a scenic 80-acre campus on the banks of the River Liffey at Palmerstown, just eight kilometres west of Dublin city centre, The King’s Hospital attracts pupils from all over Ireland as well as from overseas, so adding to its multi-national and cosmopolitan appeal.
Worship, according to the rites of the Church of Ireland, is an integral part of the school and while priority is given to those of the main Protestant traditions, as a Christian school we welcome those of other faiths. | | | | | | | | International Green Flag awarded to The King's Hospital The King's Hospital has been rewarded for its initative in promoting an environmental programme in the school.
