The King's Hospital SCT XI completed an historic win in the final of the Leinster Schools' Senior Cricket Cupon Tuesday 25th May. Conditions were excellent and in a thrilling final, KH ran out naarrow winners to take the cup for the first time in 63 years ... and to bring back the trophy to Brooklawn for the first time ever ... !

| | |  | | | | | | | St Columba's batted first, compiling a formidable total of 173-8 off their forty overs. The total may have been even more daunting, but for some fine bowling by Paul Lawson, Tom Satchwell (2-42) and Des Merry (3-40), which restricted the opposition middle order.
Paul Lawson and Dale McDonough Kinkade gave KH an excellent start in their reply, putting on for the first wicket ... but the turning point in the game came with the innings of 'Man of the match', Des Merry. A swift and most entertaining 46 brought KH within realistic distance of the winning total, before Merry was dismissed by a wonderful catch in the deep.
